As a dedicated Claims Litigation Manager Senior (Western States), you will be responsible for managing complex litigation arising out of the auto contract in compliance with state laws and regulations, including creating strategy for defense or settlement, evaluating, negotiating, and collaborating with defense counsel to secure appropriate resolution. Accountable for delivering a concierge level of best in class member service through setting appropriate expectations, proactive communications, advice and empathy. This role focuses on Western states (California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Hawaii as well as others in that region). This hybrid role requires an individual to be in the office 3 days per week. Responsibilities include identifying and managing risks from business activities, managing complex litigation involving bodily injury or property damage, working independently with minimal supervision, applying advanced knowledge of claims litigation processes, managing litigation and liaising with members and counsel, documenting litigation strategy and decisions, representing USAA at mediations and trials, reviewing legal fees, directing law firm vendors, providing recommendations influencing litigation and business solutions, assisting team members, and ensuring high levels of service. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 6 years of relevant work experience in complex liability and claims, 2 years customer contact experience, claims adjusters license or ability to obtain, advanced negotiation and customer service skills, knowledge of P&C policies and state laws, regulatory compliance experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Preferred qualifications include 7+ years handling casualty liability claims, 3+ years handling Auto Bodily Injury and Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Litigation, familiarity with injury claims litigation processes, continuing education with relevant insurance designations, and claims/litigation experience in Western States. The position does not offer relocation assistance.
