Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is currently seeking a Controls Engineer to join our team. This position will support the Process Engineering team at the Clearfield Utah facility and SLC Copper Crossing Facility. The selected candidate will support the Case Value Stream. Responsibilities Include: Integrate equipment for robotics, PLC’s, servo drives, and instrumentation. Program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) to control a variety of processes, machine tools, and robotics. Allen Bradley PLC and HMI programming experience preferred. Work with the Process Owner and Operation Personnel to test new/modified PLC/HMI programs prior to Implementation. Work with the process owner to optimize the control system with process improvements. Develop automated recipes to error proof the system and reduce operator variability for process specific parts. Integrate process data with Canary Historian / Thingworx / Kepware. Provide Line Stoppage Support for PLC controlled processes. Program variable frequency drives (VFD) for all types of motor control applications. CNC machine troubleshooting and programming. Work with Maintenance, Operations, and other Engineers to troubleshoot. Work as a team with the Electrical Design / Controls Engineers on upgrades / new controls systems. Support various control systems on plant (e.g. presses, autoclaves, mixers)—involving troubleshooting, re-programming, adding software enhancements, etc. in support of Operations. Manage upgrades to process related computers. Implement secure network connections to manufacturing equipment. Follow company software development lifecycle. Contribute to programming standards and best practice. This position can be filled at either a level 01 or level 02.
