Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Ground Test Engineering Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization on the Flight Test Operations (FTO) team. This leadership role is located in EAFB, CA. The selected candidate will possess an extensive aviation test engineering background with strong technical and leadership skills. This position requires strong communication skills to support extensive executive-level interaction. They will collaborate with government and contractor leaders to develop detailed test plans and drive an integrated team approach to problem solving. A thorough understanding of flight test safety planning, test operations, and test reporting is required. Primary job responsibilities: Lead and provide functional management for a team of 15-20 system test engineers & test conductors. Serve as the link between the Flight Test Maintenance Engineering team and the Flight Test Operations team Collaborate with government and contractor leaders to develop detailed test plans and drive an integrated team approach to problem solving. Responsible for developing resource forecasts and achieving cost and schedule performance goals for their team. Must be willing to work extended shifts and odd hours to support flight test execution objectives. The standard shift for this position is on the 4/10 schedule.
