Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Staff Mission Management Capability Responsible Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL. The selected engineer will perform as a member of an interdisciplinary team on a key effort to develop novel and innovative solutions to advanced technical problems. The successful engineer will contribute to the overall development of mission management capability development, including System Architecture/Concept Development, Requirements Development and Derivation, Algorithm Development, Performance Analysis, Data Analysis, and 3rd party solution integration trade studies and work with cross-disciplinary hardware, software, and firmware teams. The Mission Management Capability Responsible Engineer in this role will be responsible for one or more of the following: Support development and integration of one or more mission management functional capabilities as part of the mission systems segment to meet overall platform objectives Requirements development, analysis, maturation and implementation translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications Performing functional and performance analyses Models behavior of systems in real-time and constructive simulations of sensors and other platforms. Integrate developed capabilities with operational scenarios and representative surrogate hardware Test/experiment design to conduct parametric performance analysis Test/experiment design using measures of performance assessment tools Solicit input from various stakeholders, synthesize data, and communicate results to various levels of leadership within the organization. Perform mission engineering activities to ensure continuity between desired operational capabilities and delivered system performance, through the Systems Engineering “V”. Ensure performance capabilities of architectures and solutions are traded against cost and mission requirements and assess operational effectiveness of existing and emerging capabilities in representative operational environments.
