Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking System Safety Engineers to support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. The role involves influencing design to meet safety expectations and requirements, analyzing and recommending design features to control or eliminate hazards, participating in product/system design, creating functional specifications, establishing safety requirements, developing safety documents, performing audits, and evaluating system safety requirements in relation to design and development. Candidates should have extensive expertise in MIL-STD-882E, software development, and systems engineering. Experience with design artifacts for System Safety analyses, flight test support, and flight worthiness of complex systems is required. Basic qualifications include 12 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree (or less experience with higher degrees), experience with DO-178, MIL-STD-882E, programming languages like C/C++ or Java, and a US Secret Clearance. Preferred qualifications include leadership in software safety processes, Agile development experience, Model Based Systems Engineering, missile flight systems software development, and relevant certifications.
