Support department to achieve company goals and company goals which includes but is not limited to: a high-end customer order fulfillment, managing inventory to the lowest possible DSO. Responsible for managing and supporting the implementation of corporate category strategies and initiatives within operation company (OpCo). Supports operation company (OpCo) sales staff with product assortment updates, informational inquiries and delivery of product cutting and training sessions. Drive operation company (OpCo) required category initiatives and assortment in harmony with corporate requirements. Executes recommended assortment changes and support positive local supplier relationships. Responsibilities include executing Category Management and other initiatives within assigned categories, managing category success and overall support of Corporate core suppliers, communicating with planners/suppliers/brokers/sales team/customer service, managing and promoting local assortment within assigned categories to achieve company goals, managing local supplier and broker relationships, providing input, support, and guidance to operation company (OpCo) Sales Specialist, facilitating corporate assortment training at the operation company (OpCo) as required, conducting local supplier reviews and negotiations using corporate best business practices, negotiating/ securing supplier-funded customer deviated pricing, facilitating negotiations and management of local Earned Income programs, managing and reviewing company Earned Income components, working with supplier Category Captains or Advisors for focus categories as required, supporting inventory depletion process by identifying items to be discontinued and assisting in supplier negotiations to return products, driving results on focus categories and supporting promotional activities and selling events, acting as direct line of contact for local sales and communicating with and assisting Sales on all issues, new item and Vendor creation, driving increased Sysco Brand sales, managing category equities and market pricing to support pricing integrity in conjunction with RevMan team, collaborating and reviewing Sales and GP results of Market Cost Price changes with Revenue Management team, providing market commodity/industry news and updates to the sales organization. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, 3+ years of experience in retail, wholesale or distribution environment, strong skills in conflict management, multitasking, merchandising change, collaboration, communication, organization, supplier negotiation, and Excel. Physical demands and working conditions are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of the job. Travel is approximately 5%.
