Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer in support of the Sentinel program located in Roy, UT. The role supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production, and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure. The candidate will join the Sentinel Systems Engineering, Integration, & Test (SEIT) Segment and be a contributing member of the Software & System Integration (SSI) Weapon System Integration (WSI) team. Responsibilities include assessing design compatibilities across Weapon System Segment teams, ensuring balanced requirement definition influences design decisions, driving engineering processes and analyses to prove successful design integration, and analyzing for potential gaps. The role requires strong leadership, foundational systems engineering skills, mentoring and coaching abilities, and excellent communication skills. Duties include developing system engineering artifacts such as requirement specifications and interface definition documents, coordinating between SEIT and other integration teams, participating in technical planning, verification and validation development, cost and risk considerations, and requirements analyses for integrated systems. Basic qualifications include relevant years of experience depending on degree level, US citizenship with active DoD Secret Clearance, and experience with ICBMs, Systems Engineering, and DOORS or related tools. Preferred qualifications include experience with MMIII or Sentinel Weapon Systems, program lifecycle phases, architectural diagrams, Earned Value Management, Risk Management, team leadership, interface product development, analytical thinking, problem-solving, schedule and technical recovery plans, and strong work ethic.
