Citibank, N.A. seeks a Product Control Lead Analyst for its Houston, Texas location. Duties: Control daily profit and loss reporting for trading activity. Work with trading desks, risk management, and operations to monitor products traded, associated market risks, and accounting complexities. Conduct standard controls, procedures, and key metrics with commodities teams. Prepare and analyze daily Profit and Loss (“P&L”) statements for commodities businesses. Perform statistical analysis. Communicate P&L attributions to the portfolio and provide daily results to trading desk and senior management. Conduct P&L Attribution Analysis and Trade Capture System versus Accounting general ledger Front-to-back population control. Perform regression analysis. Work with P&L derivatives and structured securities and their pricing mark-ups. Follow the U.S. General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to balance sheet chart of accounts composition. Use trade life cycle and economics principles. Calculate and explain financial performance of commodities trading desks. Control front to back-office system reconciliations and determine causes of breaks. Utilizing Power BI, Tableu, Knime, and Python. Conduct Excel macros control. Work with trading analysts to correct booking errors and develop controls to prevent the recurrence of breaks. Reconcile monthly trading P&L to general ledger and management systems. Redesign and streamline daily and monthly reporting processes. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policies and protocols. Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field and 6 years of progressively responsible experience as a Product Control Lead Analyst, Product Control Senior Analyst, Product Control Supervisor, or related position involving Profit and Loss analysis, product control, and risk management for a global financial services institution. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s degree in the stated fields and 4 years of the specified progressive experience. Full span of experience must include: Working with derivatives financial products or commodities products to monitor financial risks and analyze P&L drivers; Utilizing the US GAAP for derivatives financial products or commodities products; Applying trade life cycle and economics knowledge to conduct complex structured transactions and financial analysis; Utilizing Digitalization Tools including: Power BI, Tableu, Knime, and Python to automatize processes and create controls for data quality and flow; Excel to create macros and debug existing macros; and Analytics and Statistics to analyze large amount of financial transaction data and conduct regression analysis.
