Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an opening for a Network Engineering Manager 1 to manage a team of System Administrators across multiple programs and efforts. This position is a Network Engineering Management role within the Defense Systems Unmanned Arial Vehicle program and will report directly to the Network Engineer Manager. The ideal candidate demonstrates a broad skill set that is balanced between interpersonal, business, and technical capabilities. You have the ability to collaborate within and across teams to accomplish goals. You are committed to ethics, integrity, and innovation while challenging traditional ways of doing business. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and you are comfortable engaging with internal and external customers. Essential Functions: Lead a team of Network Engineers and Systems Administrators performing direct work on Information Systems and other computer models. Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills. Use good judgement to pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Work closely with program-assigned technicians and systems engineers, management ensure the computer systems and software stays in a high state of readiness. Maintain a high quality of system efficiency. Oversee and manage the quality and timeliness of the organization’s products, and identification and remediation of potential issues before they become problems. Develop and manage detailed budgets and schedules and create work assignments for indirect tasking. The successful candidate will have a current full-time Program assignment; with a subset of the time allocated to Functional Manage duties, which fluctuate throughout the year due to business needs and the performance management cycle. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in System Administration/Network Engineering with 5 years experience OR 8 or more years of System Administration with management experience CompTIA Security + Full understanding knowledge of Microsoft Windows software and Linux Flavor OS’s Extensive technical expertise with VMware, or other virtualization specialties Must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Windows Active Directory, VMware processes and Configuration Management as it pertains to software/hardware management Exceptional leadership skills to coordinate collaboration across different Software, engineering, Government, and contractor teams Demonstrated mastery in various competencies of Teaching, Mentoring, and Facilitation An Active Top Secret clearance
